Drawing-performance

1 hour (per session)

Chinretsukan Gallery (Tokyo University of the Arts, 2018)

The original title in French "Bêchez, Creusez, Fouillez" is extracted from the fable of the Farmer and His sons by Jean de La Fontaine.

After an intense first semester at the Tokyo University of the Arts characterized by a jump in performance, I decided, during the group school exhibition Embarcing Borders, to do my first drawing-performance. Influenced by the work of Gordon Matta-Clark, I had the idea of cutting out the exhibition hall, making small pieces of the Chinretsukan Gallery  using a mirror and a pencil. The results were put on the floor of the gallery at the exact location where I was making drawings.

It is also an exploration of an exhibition space where several artists were like in competition for showing their works. At the end, my drawings invaded the space.
